CFL PREDICTIONS:WEEK 5

MONTREAL @ OTTAWA: Wednesday July 19th 7:30PM:
Week five gets off to an early start with a Wednesday evening match-up in Ottawa, featuring the Redblacks and Alouettes. The Als are coming off a big win at home last week over Calgary while the Lumberjacks were felled by the Eskimos in Edmonton, 23-21. Ottawa will have plenty of motivation to pick up their first win of the season on home turf and break the winless goose egg hanging over their collective heads. The past five contests between these two teams in the Nation’s capital have been close affairs in terms of total combined scoring with Montreal outscoring Ottawa 115-114, but Ottawa has won three of the past five contests. Ottawa by 3: 24-21.

EDMONTON @ HAMILTON: Thursday July 20th 7:30PM:
The winless Tiger-Cats were pummeled at home last week, while the Eskimos remain undefeated this season after winning a close one at home, squeezing past the Redblacks, 23-21. Expect the current trend for both of these teams to continue this week. Edmonton has won two in a row against the Tabbies and outscored the Cats 77-69 over the past three meetings in Hamilton. Edmonton by 5: 28-23.

WINNIPEG @ B.C.: Friday July 21st 10:00PM:
Both of these teams are coming off wins last week over a pair of Eastern rivals with Winnipeg swamping the Argos in Winnipeg 33-25, while the Lions roared to victory in Hamilton, taming the Tabbies, 41-26. Travis Lulay will get the start at home this week against the visiting Bombers. Winnipeg has won three straight games in the den, and outscored the Lions 96-90 in the last four contests in Vancouver. B.C. by 11: 34-23.

SASKATCHEWAN @ CALGARY: Saturday July 22nd 9:00PM:
Saskatchewan rides into the Corral after a bye-week to take on the Stamps, who return home after being ambushed in Montreal last week. Calgary will be anxious to lassoo another win at home against the Riders. Calgary has won three straight games and dominated Saskatchewan in the Corral, outscoring the Riders 117-61 over that span. Calgary by 14: 35-21.

OTTAWA @ TORONTO: Monday July 24th 7:30PM:
The Redblacks opened this week at home and they will close this week on the road in Toronto. The Boatmen were defeated last week in Winnipeg so they will be seeking to right the ship against an Ottawa squad that will be playing their second game in six days. The Argos have won three of the past four contests between these two teams in Toronto, outscoring the Redblacks 111-94. Toronto by 4: 28-24.

FANTASY PICKS

Some pick suggestions for Week 5 fantasy play:

-TRAVIS LULAY-QB-B.C.- Lulay gets the start this week in Vancouver against the Bombers. Last week in Montreal he came off the bench in Hamilton and completed 29 of 36 pass attempts for 436 yards and three touchdowns. If you are looking for a hot hand, Travis is your man.

-NICK MOORE-Receiver-B.C.- Caught ten passes from Lulay last week for 220 yards and a touchdown. The Lulay to Moore connection is set to take flight once again this week in Vancouver.

-TRAVON VAN-RB-Edmonton- Continues to shine filling in for John White who is out for the season.

-JALEN SAUNDERS-Receiver-Hamilton- Has become a favorite target of Hamilton QB Collaros.
